Affiliate links don’t change our ratings
VacuumTested participates in the Amazon Associates program. If you buy through one of our links we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. That relationship never influences a score, a badge, or a ranking. We score first, then attach the link — never the other way around.
How we choose what to review
- Availability — we only cover models sold on Amazon in the US market that a reader can actually buy today.
- Representativeness — we aim to include every tier (flagship, premium, mid-range, value, budget) so comparisons are fair.
- Search demand — new inclusions are guided by what readers actually look for (pet hair, hardwood, self-emptying, price bands).
Independence & conflicts of interest
- We do not accept payment to add, remove, or re-rank a product.
- We do not accept free units from manufacturers for review.
- If a future commercial relationship develops, it will be disclosed on the affected page and in this document.
Accuracy & corrections
- Every review carries a “last verified” date. Prices and specs are re-checked on that cadence (see How We Test).
- If we get something wrong, we correct it and note the change. Tip discrepancies are called out in the review body.
- Found an error? Email [email protected] and we’ll review it.
Our standards in one line
Honest synthesis over hype, transparent methods over black boxes, and reader trust over commission. That’s the whole policy.

Frequently asked questions
Can a brand pay for a better ranking?
No. We do not sell placements, we do not accept payment for scores, and we do not accept free units in exchange for coverage. Rankings come from the published rubric alone.
How do you handle mistakes?
We publish corrections rather than silently editing. When a substantive factual error is found, the page is corrected and the change is noted, because a review site that hides its errors cannot be trusted for the ones it has not found yet.
How do you separate facts from opinion?
Product specifications, marketplace rating snapshots, and VacuumTested analysis are labelled separately on every review page. Price and availability are always presented as time-sensitive snapshots with a check date, never as guarantees.
