Side-by-side guidance for choosing between the brands we review.

Last verified: August 1, 2026

Use these comparisons to narrow your shortlist by price, floor type, pet hair, mopping, navigation, and dock automation. Each page includes current top picks from both brands. If you already know which two models you are choosing between, jump to the model-vs-model comparisons further down — those answer specific questions such as suction, mopping hardware, and dock differences rather than whole-lineup philosophy.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a brand comparison and a model comparison?
A brand comparison looks at whole lineups: price span, philosophy, dock automation, and which models sit at the top and bottom of the range. A model comparison puts two specific robots side by side on price, tier, mopping, self-emptying, and floor fit. Read a brand comparison first, then a model one once your shortlist is down to two.
Which robot vacuum brand is most reliable?
We do not publish reliability rankings because we do not run long-term durability testing. What we can compare from the catalog is lineup breadth, price span, which use cases each brand covers, and the editorial score of each model. For durability signals, check the retailer rating snapshot on each review page and the manufacturer's warranty terms.
Is it better to buy one expensive robot or two cheaper ones?
One better robot, almost always. A single model with good navigation and a self-emptying dock covers a whole home; two budget robots mean double the maintenance and no improvement in navigation quality. The exception is a very large or multi-level home, where one robot per floor saves carrying it upstairs.
Do I need to buy from the same brand as my other devices?
No. Robot vacuums run on their own app and do not need to match your phone, speaker, or smart display brand, though most support the major voice assistants. Choose model by model rather than by ecosystem.
